Happy New Year!
I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and New Year, I really enjoyed being able to have a good chunk of time off work and be able to relax without feeling guilty about it. But now its January which brings all the '2016 Goals' and 'What I Got For Christmas Posts' which are my absolute favourites to read - hello miss nosey. I did consider doing a 'What I Got For Christmas' post, however my bedroom is currently full of cardboard boxes and i've packed a lot of my bits and bobs away as I'm moving next month - more about that at a later date. So instead I thought i'd share with you one of my favourite type of presents to get at Christmas - BOOKS!
Its usually around mid November I tend to create a wish-list of books in preparation for Christmas, I generally don't ask for a main present these days and books are a fail safe way to get me the perfect gift. I'm happy to say this year I received so many amazing books i'd hinted at - plus a few extra's that I hadn't and I thought today I would share with you some of my favourites.
I've noticed massively as I've gotten older and become more and more obsessed with having my own home I've become the biggest fan of any books about cooking or home decor, D.I.Y and home craft projects, and these two were right at the top of my list.
Now I think Hemsley and Hemsley has been the cookbook of 2015 and everybody and their aunt has a copy and now I finally have one too! Over recent months I've really wanted to try and eat a little healthier and trying to cut down on the amount of processed food that goes into my body. I really love cooking and love trying new recipes but often end up eating the same meals all the time. This book is jam packed with loads of amazing ideas and tips on eating well and I can't wait to get stuck in.
For as long as I can remember I have been a fan of the lifestyle blog A Beautiful Mess, which was probably the first blog I ever read and inspired me to start blogging. Its been amazing to see the blog grow over the years into an amazing business and brand. When Happy Handmade Home popped up on screen when browsing amazon I knew I had to add it to my wish-list - combining my love of their blog and home decor and d.i.y projects its the perfect book for me. I can't wait to try the projects for my own home.
Now a huge high five to my best buddy Rachel who was super awesome and got me this absolute beauty for Christmas. Naturally I am a huge Alice in Wonderland fan - I just can't help but love anything with my name on and this book is just the best. I already have a couple of copies of Alice in Wonderland but I really want a collection with lots of wonderful and beautiful covers - Barnes and Noble leather-bound i'm looking at you. But when I saw that the Rifle Paper Company was releasing this design I knew I just had to have it. I mean if the cover wasn't beautiful enough, the illustrations inside are out of this world and I can't help but to flick through this and make groaning noises a how beautiful it is.
Finally, this blogger favourite courtesy of Lee's mama! I've wanted this book for so so so long and I'm over the moon for now having it on my bedside table. I haven't really set myself any major New Year goals this year, but the one thing I know I want to do is take better care of my skin. I've never been 100% sure on my skin type and what products I should really be using, I tend to buy what I think I should be using. But instead of just winging it I wanted to do it properly and give me skin the treatments it needs. I can't wait to get properly stuck into this and see what all the fuss is about.
I hope you enjoy mini christmas book haul, I'd love to know what your favourite christmas presents were that you received this year.
