Finding the balance – How I’ve struggled with a new routine.

finding balance

Hey, it’s me again. Firstly I must apologise for how quiet I’ve been on here the past few weeks. So much for a big productive blog launch eh? I’ve been a little absence of late, both on here and over on my social media. To be honest I’ve really been struggling with finding the balance. The fact winter is well and truly here hasn’t helped much with that either. It’s dark by 4.30pm, its grey and wet outside and after a day at work all I want to do is curl up under a blanket with a cup of tea.

For the past three months, my work schedule has doubled as I’ve been doing some freelance social media and marketing work as well as my usual Assistant Manager job. I’ll admit I’ve found this quite hard work, after spending a day sitting at a computer, the last thing I want to do is come home and spend my evening doing the exact same thing.

I was managing quite well with this new schedule and got myself used to working extra days during the week. However the last month Lee has gotten himself a new job and is working much later hours than he usually is and we pretty much pass like ships in the night. I’ve found it quite hard to get used to this new routine – especially as he is often home around Midnight. This has massively affected how well I’ve been sleeping and for the past few weeks and I’ve been walking around like a zombie. However, I am getting used to the change in our routine now and I’m actually quite enjoying having the evenings to myself so I can try and get a few bits and bobs done.

The one thing I still need to tackle is blog photography – I’ve really been struggling to find the time to photograph with it getting dark so quickly in the evening now. I have asked for some softbox lights for Christmas though, so fingers crossed Santa is kind and I can get photographing again.

Now I am getting used to this new routine and finding the balance again, I just wanted to pop on here to say hello and that I am back blogging. I have a little backlog of posts to go up over the next couple of weeks – I am going to apologise now as quite a few of them are from events back in October where I had around 7-8 events in the space of two weeks, I hope you’ll still enjoy reading them anyway.

I hope you’ll stick around as I’ve some exciting collaborations heading this way soon. You can follow me over on Twitter and Instagram to keep up to date with what I am doing. I’m starting to use Instagram stories a little more so hopefully, I’ll see you over there.
