WINTER WARMERS: MY TOP PICKS FROM THE HIGH STREET

Warm coats, colourful jumpers and knitted scarves are my favourite part of autumn and winter. There’s just something I love about wrapping up on colder days with lots of layers. But just because the weather outside is a little on the dull side, doesn’t mean your wardrobe has to be too. I’ve mentioned this before but 2017 was the year I re-introduced colour into my wardrobe, and I’m going to tell you now 2018 ain’t going to be any different – it’s probably going to be more colourful.

I’ve sat down and picked out some of my favourite winter warmers from the high street. First up we have jumpers! It’s pretty obvious from this selection that I’m leaning towards a lot of cable knit jumpers, stripes and pops of hot pink and yellow. But when the weather outside is cold and grey there’s nothing more I love than adding a pop of colour whilst still staying cosy and warm.

JUMPERS:

Lee is the first love of my life, my second is coats. I have an entire rail dedicated to my coats – and I regularly have to stop myself from buying more. But when you live in the North of England and spend 90% of your time on public transport you need a winter coat or two (or in my case six of seven). I really think they add to an outfit, as there’s nothing worse than having an outfit you love then shoving an ugly old coat on the top that doesn’t go, so the more choice you have the better, right?

WINTER ACCESSORIES

I’m not afraid to admit that at times I am a walking cliche. Along with everybody and their aunt, this winter I’ve fallen head over heels for baker boy caps and berets. I’m regularly told I have a hat head and suit most hats, but I’ve never really had the confidence to pull them off. That was until the summer when shooting photos with Amy that I discovered the joys of a beret. From that day on I’ve been lusting over every colour, I can find. I finally bit the bullet and bought myself a pink one from Primark and my collection has quickly expanded. I’m now on a mission to own one in basically every colour I can get, so far I’m up to five so I’m doing pretty well.

So that’s my top picks for winter warmers on the high street at the moment. I’d love to know what your favourite items are – or even favourite shops as I’m always looking for new places to shop, comment below!
