Last week I was invited along to the Hilton Garden Inn in Sunderland, situated at the Hilton Garden Inn. The hotels very own Karbon Grill restaurant has recently launched an American style Afternoon Tea. So I hopped on the metro after work and headed on over to the Stadium of Light to try it out.  You’re probably wondering how an American style Afternoon Tea differs from a classic Afternoon Tea and it’s as simple as instead of cucumber sandwiches and fruit scones its filled with American themed sweets and treats. Filled with mini sliders, calzones, spicy buffalo wings and cheesy…

(I thought it would be fun to re-do my make-up like 15 year old me) Hello, teenage Alice, it’s adult Alice here and I thought as I’m fast approaching the age of Twenty-Five it was about time I sat down and wrote you a little letter as we have a few things we need to talk about. First of all, all these weird ‘funny turns’ you’re currently experiencing? These are normal, and you’re not alone in experiencing them. You know how whenever you get close to somebody or meet somebody new and you have to explain to them you can…

If you didn’t know already Autumn is my favourite season of all time. To be honest, those ‘in-between-y’ seasons always attract me the most, when the weather begins to change slightly, but you’re not too hot nor too cold. I woke up last week and was thrilled to feel a chill in the flat and had to pop the heating on the timer again and wrap myself up in a jumper before heading out to work. As much as I love the idea of warm weather, when summer arrives I’m forever stressing about what to wear as I’m not that…

If I was told I could only choose one style of shoes to wear for the rest of my life, I’d always pick brogues. Every single time. I don’t know what it is about this style of shoe but my wardrobe has always been full of them, in every colour possible. They’re just that perfect shoe that goes with everything, from jeans to dresses, from skirts to shorts, they just look good all year around.  Now, most of my brogues now are quite dark and wintery, as my summery ones are slowly making their way into the bin as they’re…

Online personality tests, Buzzfeed quizzes or even Myers Briggs, they all tell me one thing. I’m an introvert, even Pottermore sorted me into Hufflepuff. FYI I bloody love being a Hufflepuff, I even have some Hufflepuff knickers that are hideously yellow and make me laugh whenever I put them on – maybe that’s a little TMI, sorry. But basically, I am an introvert! But what exactly does that mean? Urban Dictionary defines it as: ‘Opposite of extrovert. A person who is energised by spending time alone. Often found in their homes, libraries, quiet parks that not many people know about, or…

📷 : Helen & Chloe Jacket: Zara     Top: Boohoo     Jeans: Asos     Boots: *George      Bag: Primark Ever since I first laid my eyes on this baby pink Zara biker jacket, I knew it had to be mine. Initially, I’d seen it in a mustard yellow, however already owning a similar suede mustard jacket from Missguided I decided to let it pass. Then the pink one was released and that was it. After weeks of checking daily (I kid you not) it finally came back in stock and I ordered it at such speed the delivery address was for Alice Alice. This was…

ONE It smells amazing, simple as that. There is just something special about the smell of this range that sends me head over heels for it. The smell instantly relaxes me as soon as I smear my face with the cream cleanser. The cleanser just smells like clean. Its soft, a little floral and reminds me a little of baby powder. The perfect way to revitalize me in the morning and also relax me in the evening. TWO It leaves my skin feeling incredible! There are few cleansers that as soon as I rub them on my face my skin…

Back at the beginning of June, I received an exciting email in my inbox inviting me to the launch of a brand new burger brand called Ninja Burger. I must admit I hadn’t really heard much about them and even google couldn’t help too much in finding out who they were. But I was curious and the event itself was hosted in my all time favourite bar No28 – where I spent many an evening sipping cocktails with my old university housemates. Luckily I was allowed to bring a plus one, so I grabbed Lee and we headed on down…

As I mentioned in my sulphate-free shampoo post last week I’m trying to make the effort to buy more cruelty-free beauty products when I can. So I thought today I’d share with you a few products I’ve picked up recently. This all started with an NYX counter finally arriving in Newcastle and the whole thing just escalated. The one NYX product I’d been dying to try was the matte lip creams, as I’d heard so many amazing things about them. After much deliberation, I opted for the shade ‘Cannes‘ which is the perfect rose nude type colour. It’s that typical ‘Kylie…

Now you’ll have to have been living under a rock to not be aware that Five Guys now have a home in the UK. I remember first hearing about them back in 2013 when I was in Canada and my cousins mentioned the burger chain. But I didn’t think much of it until I started seeing them popping up around the UK.  As usual, the North was left behind a little and we only got our own Five Guys a few months ago at Intu-Metro Centre, which has had a huge addition of loads of amazing new restaurants such as…

When I changed my hair at the start of April I was made aware by my hairdresser about how certain shampoos can be bad for dyed hair. I’d always used shampoo for coloured hair but it turns out they’re not always as good for coloured hair as you think. Over recent years the dangers of sulphates in shampoo’s has become more apparent and sulphate free shampoos have become more popular and readily available. Since then I began researching sulphate shampoo’s and was shocked at how many specifically for coloured hair contain them, especially as sulphates actually make hair colour fade…

I’m always trying to get into the habit of reading more often and spending less time on my phone, but I must admit after a long day at work, coming home and cooking tea then going to the gym I tend to be too tired to keep my eyes open. However over the past month or so I’ve been working a little further away from home, which is giving me about 3 hours of commuting time to finally catch up on some reading. I’d initially started this in March and intended to get it finished as part of The Girl Gang…
