Becx Beauty: Vegan and Cruelty-Free beauty treatments at home.

Since going cruelty-free back in 2016 there are a few things I just accepted I probably wouldn’t be able to enjoy the same way. Facials were one of them. I did a little research into cruelty-free spa brands but struggled to find places local to me that offered treatments using cruelty-free products.

The majority of the places I’ve been in the past tend to use brands like Elemis, Declor and Clarins and I’d just come to peace with the fact having a good facial was a thing of the past. So when my friend and fellow blogger, Rebecca told me she was launching her own freelance company Becx Beauty, offering beauty treatments in the comfort of your own home, I was so incredibly proud. Then she told me she would be using cruelty-free products, it was like my prayers had been answered.

Rebecca is a fully qualified makeup artist and beautician – so you’re in safe hands.  She is trained in facial treatments, manicures, pedicures, waxing, eyelash and eyebrow treatments, as well as makeup and spray tans.

Earlier this week Rebecca came along to my flat for me to experience her luxury facial treatment. I’d never really had somebody come to my house for a beauty treatment like this before, so the whole thing was quite exciting.

When Rebecca arrived she talked me through the treatment and asked what my skin type was to ensure she was using the right products for my skin. Whilst she set up her treatment table and facial products I popped off to get myself ready. Because this treatment includes a shoulder massage it’s advised to wear something you can slip off easily – I opted for a little vest top.

What does the treatment involve?

The treatment itself lasts around 45 minutes and includes:

  • Double cleanse
  • Skin Analysis
  • Tone
  • Steam with hot mitts
  • Exfoliate
  • Blackhead/pimple extraction
  • Face, head and shoulder massage,
  • Face mask
  • Moisturise

If facials aren’t a regular feature in your skincare routine you’re doing something wrong. They are the perfect way to improve your skin, increase circulation and help you feel de-stressed.

Being in my own home and my own space really helped me relax more and made the whole experience so much more enjoyable. Sometimes I find when I’m in really fancy treatment rooms I feel a little uncomfortable and out of place. No matter how calming they make the atmosphere,I can never fully relax.

Out of all the facials I’ve had before (including some in fancy hotel spa’s) I’m happy to say this is the best one I’ve ever had. The addition of hot mitts, exfoliation and blackhead extraction, which I’m pleased to report I have none. Really added an extra element to the treatment and I felt as if my skin really was getting pampered.

The shoulder massage really was the cherry on the top. Apparently, I have a lot of tension in my shoulders but by the end of the treatment that had completely melted away. Note to self: make the effort to get massages more often.

So if you’re in the mood for a little pampering in the comfort of your own home, I highly recommend checking out Becx Beauty, Rebecca is both professional and highly skilled in what she does. I felt at ease through the entire treatment and I came away with skin softer than a baby’s tush.
