Disclaimer

Time to get down to the nitty gritty stuff.

I’m here to breakdown the various ways in which I work with brands on this blog and throughout my social media channels. I like to be completely transparent with my readers on what I have recieved – plus its a requirement from the ASA and CMA

Sponsored content and social media posts.

Sponsored content is basically when a brand has paid me a fee to feature their brand/products/services, either on my blog or on my social media.

This type of content will be marked [AD] in the title of the blog post and a disclaimer at the beginning of the post explaining the relationship.

Social media posts will also be marked as an [AD]

Gifted items/experiences/trips

Occasionally a brand will ‘gift’ me an item in exchange for a review, blog content or social media content.

This type of content will be marked as [AD] on the blog post title, with a disclaimer at the beginning of the post explaining that items have been gifted

Social media posts will be marked as [AD-GIFTED] to highlight I have received a payment in kind for the content.

Sometimes I am lucky enough to be invited to events, restaurant launches or trips. These posts will be marked as [AD] on the blog post title, with a disclaimer at the beginning of the post explaining the relationship

Social media posts will be marked as [AD-EVENT] [AD-REVIEW] [AD-GIFTED TRIP] – depending on the experience.

Previous brand relationships.

On the occasion that a blog post features items previously gifted from a brand however, the content in question was not part of the original agreement

(eg, a post highlighting my favourite books that happen to feature a book I was previously gifted)

hese posts will contain a disclaimer at the beginning of the post highlighting that it features previously gifted items. Those gifted items will be marked with a (*)

Social media posts featuring these items will include [GIFTED ITEMS] to highlight that that particular post is not necessarily an AD, however contains items I have received for free in the past.

If I have previously worked with a brand within the last 12 months, and have gone out and purchased an item from myself and featured it on my blog or social media. I must now declare that I have previously worked with this brand, even though the items in question I have purchased myself.
