Photography Masterclass with Elouisa Georgiou and Viking Office Supplies [AD]

On a sunny and slightly sticky evening last week, I headed along to The Botanist in Newcastle for an event unlike any other I’ve attended. Viking hosted a blogger photography masterclass with Leeds based photographer Elouisa Georgio, where a group of us learnt tips and advice on how to improve our blog photography. The evening began with Elouisa talking us through the fundamentals of photography, such as ISO, Shutter Speed and Aperture. All of which are essential for anybody wanted to take good quality photographs. After we had been briefed on how a camera works, we were given a few tips and tricks…

A New Vegan Menu at The Botanist [AD]

You must have been living under a rock to not have heard about The Botanist. It’s the place to eat in Newcastle, even though it’s been in Newcastle for over 3 years it’s still as popular as ever. So popular that every time I’ve tried to go it’s been super busy and I couldn’t get in. So when an email landed in my inbox asking if I’d like to come along and review their new vegan menu, I jumped for joy! As you may have seen previously I took part in Veganuary at the beginning of the year. I have…

Dining at 100ft with Chaophraya and S.Pellegrino [AD]

Dining at 100ft with Chaophraya and S.Pellegrino   When the email arrived in my inbox inviting me along to Newcastle in the sky in collaboration with S.Pellegrino I instantly said yes.  I mean how often do you get the chance to dine 100ft in the air? Then reality hit and as somebody who isn’t all that good with heights, you can imagine how scared I was.  But I was lucky enough that Lee agreed to come along as my plus one, as I don’t think I would have managed to get myself up there on my own. We were told to…

Meet and Treat: Newcastle’s Hidden Gem [AD]

I adore food like I really love it. When I go anywhere new the first thing I do is find out where is good to eat, I can’t help myself, I’m a foodie. But I often forget to try new places in my own city and tend to always go to the same places which can get quite boring. Over the past year or so I have been trying to visit new places and try new food instead of my usual eateries all the time. Meet and Treat is one of those places that is quite hidden away and easy…

Hive Coffee Company at Jarrow Hall.

Last Thursday evening I attended the V.I.P launch of Hive Coffee Company, a cafe based in Jarrow Hall which opened at the weekend. The cafe is a collaboration between two friends, Eve McPadden and Sarah Daglish, and they’re helping bring the old Bede’s world site back to life. I remember visiting Bede’s world on a school trip in year 3 and was sad to hear of its closure. But thanks to the charity Groundwork the site has been re-launched in October 2016 as Jarrow Hall, Anglo-Saxon Farm, Village and Bede Museum. The cafe itself is based in Jarrow Hall, a…
